Question: What is my serial number / activation code?
Answer: If you have lost your serial number / activation code, simply e-mail us and we'll give it to you. When you e-mail us, include as much of the following information as you can: e-mail address you used on your order, your full name, product(s) you need a serial code for.

Question: How do I move to a new computer?
Answer: There are three steps to moving to a new computer.
Step 1. Locate the application data (see the list of our applications file names below) in your "Documents" folder ("My Documents" on Windows XP).
Step 2. Copy the application data, or folder in the case of My Checkbook, to the new computer's "Documents" folder. (either by using a USB drive, e-mail, or some other transfer device)
Step 3. Download the application(s) from our website from your new computer.
Step 4. Launch the software on the new computer. You will need to re-enter the serial number / activation code. If you have lost your serial number / activation code click here to request it from our support department.
Question: Can I backup my information?
Answer: Yes, you can and should. To backup your Surprise Software application data, you must know where the data is stored (by default). Our applications store their data, by default, in the "Documents" folder of your computer ("My Documents" on Windows XP). Below is a list of the file names given by our applications:

Question: Where are my data files stored?
Answer: Our applications store their data, by default, in the "Documents" folder of your computer ("My Documents" on Windows XP). Below is a list of the file names given by our applications:
Question: Can I get your software on CD?
Answer: It is not usually necessary to have our software on CD. The newest version of our software is always available for download from our website. If you are trying to install our software on a computer that does not have internet access, you could copy the downloaded installer to an external hard drive, such as a USB flash drive (link). You can also create a CD containing our software if your computer is capable of burning CDs. If you absolutely require our software on CD, please click this link to purchase a backup CD for only $5.00 ($1.25 shipping).

Answer: Our products are available via our Downloads Page. To keep costs low, we don't ship anything to your home.

Question: What do I do after I download the software?
Answer: When the software is downloaded on your system, it behaves like a Demo. You must enter your activation code which you see on the final checkout page, and also in your receipt email. Enter that into the Product Activation window. Activation Code is the same as your "Serial Number" on your order receipt.
Question: Why doesn't your product have ______ ? (Feature Request)
Answer: There could be a variety of reasons that our software doesn't have a particular feature that you're requesting. One of the reasons could be that you are a genius and you've thought of something that we haven't! Please take the time to e-mail us and share your feature suggestion with us. Our goal is to improve our software and make it meet our customers' needs!
Question: Does your software require an internet connection?
Answer: Generally speaking, No. Our software only requires an internet connection to download and to check for updates. But our software can be run on a computer with no internet.

Answer: Yes, and yes! If you want to use a check or credit card, or money order, you can download our offline order form here.
Question: Can I try the software before I buy it?
Answer: Certainly! All of our software is available to download and try before you buy. Simply download the software, and click "Demo" to use the product (certain limitations apply).
Question: How do I delete a My Checkbook account?
Answer: Your My Checkbook accounts are stored, by default, in your "Documents" ("My Documents" on Windows XP) folder in the "My Checkbook Accounts" folder. To delete an account in My Checkbook, simply locate the account you wish to delete on your computer and move it to the trash (like you would any other file). Make sure and do this while My Checkbook, and that account, is closed.
